FOUR SEASONS IN ONE DAY.........

Winter in Southern California is mostly a mild , nondescript placid season with not really a lot going on......We have grey skies, sunny warm days, or days with no weather at all... you don't really notice it.....yeah, another nice day........but yesterday was different..... We were all over the map!!!! Torrential rain, hail, rainbows, sun and for good measure a Tsunami added to the mix.....But it was beautiful.... The sky glorious blue..... The air clean and fresh... and when the rain did stop briefly, I ran out there with my brand new best friend and took some photographs of the brave and bold gardeners on my block...the landscaping pioneers of Wrigley... MAUNA & LEE.... BILL.... MIKE & LYNETTE..... My wonderful neighbors...as colorful and generous as their gardens......Free Spirits who went against the grain to make the hood one heck of a cooler place to be.....

Oooo, it all looks so lush and green and wild compared to here! I especially like that little triangular plot!

Beautiful photos. You're doing great, one step at a time. Then it all starts to build! Keep visiting other peoples blogs and leave comments, they'll come see yours. It's all about networking, and before you know it you'll have a wonderful group of blogging art sisters. Have fun. I'd love to visit your booth at the Antique Mall some day. Take care. Riki

Glad you've come to visit over at Textilosophy - and I will certainly be back here. So much fun to read your posts. It seems the climate you have in California is similar to ours in South Australia, though Austin,Texas is my home town's sister city in the States. Everybody is replacing their gardens here too with "water-wise" plants. I visited California a long time ago and had a great time.

Hey Cynthia
I think you'll find winter i Sydney is similar to yours! Although It does get cold, windy and raining... it still has that nondescript nature you are describing... which means many months of boredom which i am dreading right now... Apparently the whole east coast of Australia was on tsunami watch yesterday... i sort of slept through it.. haha... but then that same storm came rolling through here and we are now in the first cold days in eons.. Ok... enough about the weather.. Welcome to blogging.. and have fun xx Julie

Love that "V" shaped arrangement in the garden - will be keeping that in mind for any future changes we make over here. The thorns on that last tree are great! What a fun neighborhood you must live in.

What beautiful gardens...so different than anything I've ever seen. I'm originally from Canada so you don't see a lot of arid gardens. Someone mentioned a Yoga post?...I'm heading off to find it! Enjoy your camera and I look forward to seeing more great pictures...Maura
