With Riverside, Calilfornia still on my mind, I
would like to show you a really cool shop that
is located right across the promenade from The Misson Inn.
It is called "Mrs. Tiggy Winkles"....Now normally alot
of these kind of shops are too frou-frou and frilly for me,
with alot of not so great merchandise...This place however is an exception.
This is the proprietor of the shop, CeeAnn Thiel...
She is one heck of a groovy chick with exceptional taste
and a great eye for cool stuff... She was friendly and willing
to share. It was like visiting a friends house..In fact
I was ready to go home with her afterwards and carry
on the party...
Beautiful stuff in every corner...The layout and displays are
really creative... She shops all over the place and knows
where to get the best...... This shop has it all..
Great soaps, candles, an outrageous selection of cards
that are unique and so different from anything else out there.
I loved just about everything in here!
Alot of the merc was displayed in Antique shelves
or buffets...I wanted that stuff too!
Little vignettes everywhere. English husband even bought
something!! Usually he doesn't even go into shops that
look girly... He bought one of these bird pictures that
are mounted on glass. CeeAnn seems wilingly to
buy things from vendors who make handmade and
unusual items...
More cool bird stuff..
An Asian themed section...
One storefront couldn't contain all this great stuff,
so she got the shop next door too...
So when you make that trip to The Misson Inn, be sure to visit this shop

I know that you know I would LOVE this place. How fun. I'm with you on the "cutsey" but you ventured in anyway and look what you got! I would have been in there for hours I think.
I love eclectic shops like this!
Oh Cynthia,
When you said 'Mrs Tiggy Winkles' I immediately thought of little mice with teasle heads, toilet roll covers and chintzy cushions but, no. It's wonderful. I think that she should maybe change the name of the shop !! What with 'The Mission Inn' and then a leisurely stroll across the road to such a lovely shop well, who cculd ask for more. XXXX
Yes I know what your saying Jacqueline...Normally I wouldn't even go into a shop with a name like that...I hate those kind of places, but this was really cool...She's been there for 30 odd years, so in the 60's this name would have been a little more "on trend"...
What a fabulous looking shop!
Great photos, too!
Hugs,
Anne
Fun....who would have thought I'd be itching to go to Riverside? : )
Ah, I forgot you asked about Yin Yoga.... stretches the connective tissues as opposed to building muscle. Holding "restorative" poses for 5 minutes at a time while meditating (focusing on the breath and emptying the mind). Very non-stressful.... and my teacher makes it a spiritual experience!!
Oh she sounds quite the character, great store find.xxx
I love the bird stuff. :)
I would love to visit this shop! She looks like a fabulous woman to know!
That is my kind of a shop!!!
Thanks for visiting me!

Cynthia amor, I am going to have to go visit this great shop the next time that I am in Riverside :) Have you ever been to Guilding the Lily in Fullerton? I need to make it there too...so many great places...so little time and $$ :) But never hurts to stop and just look for that something special. Have a wonderful weekend! Besos, Rose
ps...all this time I was wondering why I didn't see any new posts from you...I thought I was a follower already and I wasn't :( But I fixed that now and added you to my blog list of beautiful places to visit :)
Oh my, my children were babies when we first discovered Tiggy Winkles. Now if I am in Cali, during any holiday it is a must visit. I love Cece, she is always so friendly and her house is wonderful!
