Remembrance Day

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day
of the eleventh month
we stop to remember the fallen.

Remember all the brave men and women both past and present
who have fought and died for our freedom.

Dear Cynthia,
So sorry that I'm late with my comment.....I've had computer trouble yet again !!
I watched the ceremony at the Cenotaph on Sunday morning. It was a beautiful sunny day and was wonderful to watch.....and I had my own 2 minutes silence on Friday. I think it's so important that we remember them. XXXX

I'm sorry I'm just getting to this post..I'm so far behind because of my back! This is a beautiful poem Cynthia...one we had to learn in school when I was in grade 5 in Canada. Did you know it was written by a Canadian soldier in 1915...a physician during WWI Lt Col John McCrae wrote this the day after he witnessed the death of his 22 year old friend. My Grandfather served in that war along with his brothers. His youngest brother was gassed. He made it home to Canada but died sometime later. My father served in the Canadian Army and was wounded in action. He married and English girl and moved back to Canada and the rest as they say...is history! ;)
No...we shall never forget. Thank you for posting this.
Maura X
