Wisteria Time

My back garden is busting with color.
Yes it’s my favorite time of the year...
My Wisteria is in full bloom.

I planted this out of a tiny 10 gallon pot about 9 years ago.
She is now a mighty thing...
even after lots of pruning she still kicks butt each and every springtime.
In fact I think that it is the pruning that makes her stronger and prettier
each year.

And I love her for it.

Those doors lead into our bedroom.
So as I lie there, I can see her...and smell her.
and today 88 degrees outside....magic.

The buzzing of the bees is almost thunderous...
there are millions of them.

My Ginger enjoys the view as well.

Hello Cynthia:
Your Wisteria is certainly glorious! Such an abundance of bloom and of the most wonderful shade of lilac. How beautifully romantic to have it cascading round the door of your bedroom.

We are sure that your frequent pruning is definitely bringing these fabulously floriferous results. Often the reason why Wisterias do not flower is because they have been left unpruned and so make leaves rather than blooms.

What a splendid view from your bedroom Cynthia .... your wisteria is magnificent. We had one that didn't flower for 15 years and, after feeding it with tomato food, it decided to flower . It had the longest flowers but, usually the flowers come first, don't they ? Well, our flowers came after the leaves so you couldn't see the flowers !! We had to dig it up eventually and admit defeat with it !!
You keep on pruning and make yours flower even more !! XXXX

BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL..I LOVE Wysteria...And I believe you are correct, that the pruning does make it grow stronger, fuller and better! What a treat to be able to lie there and look out your window and see this luciousness!
Ginger is so very dear....A Great Beauty, too...!

WONDERFUL Pictures, my dear.

Awesome wisteria. Wisteria makes me wistful.
I've not only gotten to see your face but a slice of your magnificent abode today. How about that!

Your Wisteria is GORGEOUS. I've always loved them. I tried one..once and it just wouldn't bloom. I need to try again.

You have a beautiful place - it looks so peaceful.

Gorgeous wisteria and I love the glimpse of your garden - my wisteria won't be blooming for several weeks yet. Funny thing - I have never pruned my wisteria and it blooms twice a year. My neighbor, who does prune, has never, ever, in about 12 years, had a single bloom on hers.

I have a 10 year old wisteria.
Last spring I had 4 blossoms. When is the best time to prune and I was told do not fertlize it
I wish mine would bloom like that.

Stunning Wisteria Cynthia. We have to wait until May for it to flower here. Are the Jacaranda out yet?

Beautiful, I miss my wisterias from my old house, I had white on one side and lilac the otherside. The house I'm in now is too small to take one,but on the plus side I have a spectacular passion flower.

What an extraordinarily pretty girl she is!! I'm not surprised she's driving those bees wild! What a beautiful place to create in.

WOW. I so wish we had wisteria here in Minneapolis, but NO WAY! However, if this new trend of warmer weather continues each winter, I just may be able to grow it! What a gorgeous garden you have. THANK YOU FOR VISITING ME with such kind words! Your jewelry is just stunning!!! Anita
