Rest in Peace Elizabeth.

A beauty....a vision...a tireless champion for the victims of AIDS...an actress of extraordinary talent...
A look,  a glance...that’s all it took.   A fire burning within that could not be contained... and what came
across on the screen was like nothing ever seen before and will never be seen again.   Her countless marriages. The diamonds.   The things she did for love...nothing stood in her way.   Cleopatra.   Black Beauty.   Lassie.
Maggie the Cat...Giant...the list is endless... Liz....just the mention of her name invokes the smolder, the legendary violet eyes, the beauty mark.  All iconic to her.....Rest in Peace Elizabeth.. To a life well lived.

Lovely post! I've put my own little tribute to the beautiful, talented lady on my blog too.

I am eight months older than Elizabeth and always felt a kind of kinship to her even though I didn't know her. I admired her tremendously. Besides being a very talented actress, her deep commitment to AIDS and AMFAR literally changed the face of AIDS when she spoke out, back in the day. Raising over $25 million for Research is no small feat---I know how hard it is to raise money and the Beautiful Ms. Taylor brought a focus and a passion to this work....Just as she did in her life and in her life as an actress....An honest, outspoken terrific dame and Dame....She was always herself--a trait that stood her in good sted...And she spoke from her heart and her gut, too....She will be missed for so very many reasons, not the least of which is that she was probably the most Beautiful women in screen history....As someone said earlier today, "She was a Great Broad"...I agree. RIP, dear Elizabeth Taylor. The last of the really great and true "Movie Stars" when that phrase really meant something...!

She was my favourite movie star. Liz and Paul in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, best movie ever. So sad she has gone.

Nice post...and love the new look, Cynthia! I'm thinkin' about a change myself...
Read an article about Elizabeth today about a man who worked with her years ago. He said she was more amazing in person than in film...he said he actually gasped when he saw her as did everyone else. I'd say that is some kind of energy, not just good looks! Will never forget her and Burton in Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew"...hilarious!

When I was a kid I saw her in Lassie, Black Beauty
and Little women. I sleep with a clothes pin on my nose, of course my Mamma took it right off.
She wore a white Cashmere coat with a double lynx collar in Butterfied 8, I bought that coat at Neimen Marcus when I was 20. She has influenced
many women. We will all miss the entertainment
and beauty that she gave us. God Bless her, as she will go down in history as an Icon of Americia's most beautiful and talented women.

Good Morning Cynthia!
It's like the end of an era with Liz gone. At this moment I can't think of any actress of today who even comes close to Liz's strength and sexuality. She will be missed. I hope your day is a good one...enjoy your garden!

We won't ever see anyone else who can compare to her. I'm glad she was around for a big chunk of my life.
